The Love Quest Foundation attended the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans from June 29 through July 3. The trip provided youth participants and instructors who participate in our annual awareness and prevention campaigns and aspire to work in the entertainment industry a firsthand experience.
We are so grateful for the support of so many without whom we would not have been able to extend this experience to local young men and women. Special thanks to Councilmembers Yvonne Flowers and Christopher Grant, Beulah Baptist Church, Felicia Watson, Heritage Family Credit Union, Salem Tabernacle, Sisters of Color Ending Sexual Assault, @choppy_thevendorblender, @humor_mill, @miss_jessies, @omar.robinson121, @rewithhart, @reggiebennettmusic, and others.
They came together to provide financial support and in-kind donations, print our “Road to Essence Festival of Culture tees for our trip, and transport us to the airport — and more! It really takes a village to build and share resources to ensure the dreams, talents, independence, and safety are a top priority for our youth and our communities.
